Take off the coil cover and give it a really good clean. That’s a much bigger problem because salt water will corrode the delicate components. Put the whole detector somewhere warm and dry and see if that is enough to dry out the components. Finally, you might also want to consider any accessories that might come with your detector – especially if you’re trying to stay on budget. Another example is when people try to use an entry level detector in areas like the pacific northwest where the soil is extremely mineralized. A perfect example of this is when people say the AT Pro is awesome in salt water.
